Selection of a wooden wick is a very important stage in candle making. After all, the burning quality of your candle depends on it.
Below we will tell you how to choose wooden wicks of our own production atribut.mold. Please note that the following recommendations apply exclusively to our wicks and do not apply to wicks from other manufacturers.
We manufacture wicks in three different widths: 8 mm, 12 mm and 16 mm. Each of them is designed for a specific container size, or rather its inner diameter.
- If the inner diameter of your container is 4-6 cm, a wick with a width of 8 mm will suit you;
- If the inner diameter of your container is 6-8 cm, a wick with a width of 12 mm will suit you;
- If the inner diameter of your container is 8-9.5 cm, a wick with a width of 16 mm will suit you.
When working with our wicks, it is necessary to put 2 wicks in one holder, because when the candle reaches the middle, the wick may not have enough oxygen and it will go out. And the double will support the flame until the very end. Thickness 0.6 mm.
Wicks are suitable for working with various types of coconut and soy waxes. But do not forget to experiment. Because the burning of the wick can be affected by several factors, such as the type of wax, the amount of dye and aromatic oils. Therefore, be sure to do tests to understand which yoke is right for you.
